I just want to send my praise and thanks to ALL of Banner Tucson for my 4th delivery. I was so nervous having to deliver at 37 weeks due to gestational hypertension. But it was the safest decision for myself and my baby. We arrived for my scheduled cesarean delivery on November 10th, 2025 at 7:00 AM. From the check-in gal getting us situated and bands on, along comes this nurse to the front asking if her patient was here, and there I was. So we briefly met at the front and I was introduced to Rachel as my L&D nurse. What an angel on earth Rachel is. She was kind and professional from the very beginning of us meeting. She was helpful and informative on everything that was going on. She listened and advocated for me in every way I needed, down to calling SWAT nurses for my IVs that were known to be difficult. I was so grateful that that is an AMAZING option for hard sticks like me. My delivery was hard and a lot harder than anyone expected going into it. Surgery got complicated and unfortunately I had to be put under general anesthesia, and even though I knew that was a possibility, I knew that Rachel was going to be there for me in anything I needed while under. The trust I had for my nurse from the beginning was so special. She gained my trust easily by being informative, personable, kind, and gentle—treating me like a person and that I was the only person she was taking care of that day. I was so nervous about my baby being born early, but I knew I was in the best hands at Banner. NICU was there right away and what was nice is that I had met them before my delivery, so there were familiar faces all around. I was so sad when we had to part ways with Rachel and go into the postpartum unit. My overall experience with her was just so positive and I’m so glad that she works there and we had the pleasure of meeting her while helping bring our last child into the world. Cannot praise her enough! And what a gem Rachel truly is.
